Mira likes to wear ponytails with barettes (other kids @ the day care have them) and she likes beads as well. I don't like to french braid her hair so I only do it maybe 1 time every 2-3 months. When I don't use Palmers Olive Oil on her head she scratches until her scalp is red and bruised with little bumps ( I have been mindful about not pulling the ponytails too tight). When I try to let her wear her hair just Curly she cries and goes to get the hair bin and asks me to comb it! I don't know what I am doing wrong. I also want to know if you have any products that will grow her hair. MIra has long hair in the front, but in the back she is bald (She does not have enough to grab in a ponytail in the lower center of her head). Is there anything I could use? I usually wash her hair once every 2-3 weeks, should I wash more frequently? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Hello!
Well, after washing your daughter's hair with the Curlie Cutie Cleansing Cream, next it is recommended that you follow up with the Coconut Dream Conditioner. After rinsing out the Conditioner, you would spray your daughter's hair all over with the Moist Curls. After spraying your daughter's hair with the Moist Curls, you would then work on one section of your daughter's hair at a time. You would take a section, start detangling that section working from the tip of the hair all the way up to the root. For detangling, you can use your fingers, a wide toothed comb, or a brush. For her age, I would suggest you buying a Baby Denman Brush, or any other small 100 percent boar bristle brush.
After detangling, you would take styling cream apply it to the hair, always making sure to thoroughly smooth it through. Once, finished, twist the section w/ your fingers in order to make a single twist. Next, you would move on to the next section. Don't do big twists, but instead focus on doing smaller twists, so they will be less likely to come aloose, while your daughter sleeps. And, after you finish one twist, you just move on to another section of hair, detangle, apply product, and twist.
Remember, you can put as many twists in your daughter's hair as you like.
Once, you have finished twisting your dsaughter's entire head, You would just let her airdry.
Now, your daughter's hair needs to be thoroughly cleansed once a week. And, after throroughly cleansing your daughter's hair with the Curlie Cutie Cleansing Cream, it always needs to be followed up with a conditioning product.
In the morning, you can do twistouts. Now, I don't know how severe your daughter's hair breakage, but I can tell you this. Using, products with ingredients in it that clog the hair follicle and don't allow it to breathe will cause breakage. And, overmanipulation or unproper care can cause that as well.
I understand that you had early on started using Aveeno and the Palmers Olive Oil Hair Grease on your daughters hair. The Aveeno actually isn't as mild a cleanser as it claims for all hairtypes. As, biracial and black children's hair are too dry for such a cleanser. Also, the Palmer's Hair Grease is bad for a two year old's much less an adults hair. As, these off-the-shelf hair greaes often do more harm than good. They don't fully penetrate the hair shaft, but instead lay on top and just give a false sense of hydration to the hair. And, they are also notorious for clogging one's hair follicles and causing hair breakage.
Because, your daughter's hair seems to be very porous and absorbs product like a sponge, I suggest you ordering the CurlyQ Custard. As, it wil give your daughter's hair maximum hydration and give great definition to your daughter's hair.
The CurlQ line of products have hair strengthening ingredients in them and this in turn will help your daughter's hair to thrive better. And, by keeping your daughter's scalp clean and un-clogged then that will promote the perfect environment for healthy hair growth.
Now, because your daughter is only 2, she definitely is too young to use any type of hair growth serums or enhancers on her scalp. As, her scalp is too sensitive for that.
Whenever, you want to put your daughter's hair into a ponytail, you always spray Moist Curls first all over the head. Second, you apply the styling product next. Lastly, you brush your daughter's hair back into a ponytail. After your daughter's hair has been secured into a ponytail, you can apply a little bit of the Radiant Ringlet's(if you are interested in purchasing) around the hairline and nape to smooth it out and on the hair sticking out from the ponytail as well.
When you want to put you daughter's hair in braids, you would take a section of hair and first spray it with Moist Curls. Second, you would detangle the section, working from the bottom up to the top. Third, you would apply styling product to it making sure to thoroughly smooth it through. Lastly, you would then braid that section, move on to another section, and just repeat the whole process again. After braiding, you would just apply a little bit of Radiant Ringlets around your daughter's hairline and nape to smooth it down.
Also, when your daughter goes to take her bath, try putting a plastic cap on her head to protect it from getting wet between hair washes. They sell the clear plastic caps all over the place, so you shouldn't have a problem finding them.
Good luck!
