Sally's sells ION Purifying Solutions Anti-Chlorine Swimmer's Shampoo that is sulfate free and designed to be moisturizing to the hair. This product is designed to be used after your child has finished swimming. As, it will effectively cleanse your child's hair of the chlorine, sand, and saltwater. Also, Sally's sells ION Purifying Solutions Anti-Chlorine Swimmer's Leave In Conditioner. This product is to be sprayed on the child's hair before they go swimming, and it it is designed to be used immediately before swimming or after using the shampoo. As, the spray is designed to protect the hair from sun and environmental damage. If you do choose to use it directly after using the Anti-Chlorine Shampoo, then just omit using the Moist Curls and begin detangling and applying product to your child's hair as usual.
I can definitely understand about some children not wanting to wear the swimming cap, as some of them don't view it as being "cool" or "popular". However, I do think that these products could really help in offsetting potential sun, chlorine, sand, or saltwater damage to your child's hair.
