Default Styling Product to tame without nuts

I have lots of questions...thank you in advance for your patience and time.

My daughter has absolutely gorgeous hair, however it does get out of control. It is super fine strand wise, however it makes up for it in volume. It varies from spiral tiny curls to a relatively straight coarse patch in the back where she sleeps, rides on the car seat... It is just below her shoulders wet and just above dry. Right now is it cut to angle down from her face because she is tiny. She doesn't like it up or in braids which I respect because it doesn't stay braided or up for long without looking unkempt. It tends to grow, get frizzy, and have tons of runaways before the day ends. That's the background info, so with that what do you recommend? I don't think any of the styling products except the gel will work because they have tree nuts (almonds) in them and she is allergic. I'm verifying with the allergist, however I know in general it's not recommended.

Our routine now is:

1) wash 1-2x weekly Ouidad either Quencher or Kurly Kidz
2) condition with the respective conditioner daily with a rinse
3) deep condition 1x per month with Ouidad Deep Treatment

This is Isabella If you need more pics you can check out my scrapbook gallery, she and her twin brother are my favorite subjects.

I think she is beautiful now, however my husband's family thinks different. They all recommend vaseline and other craziness because her hair so wild and messy. Of course they all have their hair straightened or have no hair left from years of abuse and have to wear wigs. They don't understand my committment to Isabella wearing her hair natural which I'm guessing you all will. Thank you again.

Hello!

I commend you on appreciating your daughter's natural hair and wanting it to remain that way. One ingredient in hair products to avoid is mineral oil, as it does nothing but suffocate the hair and scalp. And, vaseline is plain and simply a poor product to use on anyone's hair as it is made up of white petrolatum (a form of mineral oil). So, no matter how many times your husband's family insists on you using Vaseline on your daughter's hair, just politely tell them that you will simply pass on you using Vaseline on her hair.

From what I see from your daughter's pics, her hair needs more moisture infused into it than what the Quidad products can provide. I know all to well about having allergies to certain things, so I understand exactly what your daughter goes through.

Here's a run down of all of the CurlyQ products and a list of what nut products are in them:

Curlie Cutie Cleaninsing Cream-Horse chestnut
Coconut Dream Conditioner-Coconut
Moist Curls-Bean Tree, Shea Butter, Coconut, Wheat Germ
Milkshake-Coconut
Princess Glaze-Shea Butter, Mango, Jojoba
Radiant Ringlets-Soybean, Shea Butter, Mango, Jojoba, Evening Primrose

The ingredients of each CurlyQ product is listed on the CURLS.biz website. So, I would recommend that you print out each ingredient listing and bring or fax it to your daughter's pediatrician or allergist to see which products he/she feels would be okay for her to use, in regards to her nut allergies. As, I feel that this would be the safest way to go.

Your little one looks so precious in her picture!
