Curls Product Reviews
I have been using Curls Products for Women on my hair since I was introduced to it in 2005. I have used used every product from the line, so I thought that I would post on how they have worked for me.
Pure Curls Clarifying Shampoo-I don't regularly use clarifying products in my regime. As, my hair is already naturally quite dry. But, I did try it just to see how it would perform on my hair. It does have clarifying properties to it, of course. But, thank goodness it did not leave my hair overly stripped like a lot of other clarifiers I have used in the past have done.
Curliscious Cleansing Cream-This cleansing product is good for people like me who have naturally dry hair. As, it allows my hair to better retain moisture.
Coconut Sublime Conditioner-This product is a pretty good conditioner to use for detangling conditioning purposes. However, I do wish that it were slightly more moisturizing in order to really tackly my hair's dryness.
Asian Hair Tea Conditioner-This conditioning treatment product is one of the best that I have found for detangling, conditioning, strengthening, and deeply hydrating my hair.
Quenched Moisturizer-Perfect prep product to use before any of the Curls stylers. I like that it is lightweight and greaseless. And, it also acts as a good hair refresher two.
Milkshake-I use this product as a stand-alone styler instead of just as a leave-in conditioner/moisturizer. It helps to smooth out my curls for a mildy relaxed look and it moisturizes my hair without really weighin it down.
Souffle-This product gives my hair more moisture than what the Milkshake does. Also, it give my hair a light hold to it as well. This product also acts as a curl activating product in my hair. As, it does add a moderate amount of curl definition to my hair. And, this in turn does give my curls a bit of shrinkage to them.
Whipped Cream-This product gives my hair the most weight to it than any of Curls product does. It has a heavy consistency to it, so I must always use small amounts of it at a time. It gives my hair medium hold. And, emulsifying this product before application is always a must!
Goddess Glaze-I used to be a gel afficionado. But, last year, I decided to stop using gels in my hair and just stick with creams or lotion in my hair for stylers. I did notice that when I used this product that it gave the most hold to my hair then any of the other Curls products and that it did help to keep my hair virtually frizz poof in really damp or humid situations.
Euphoria Elixir-This is a good pomade type product to use for putting your hair in slicked back hairstyles.
Champagne Curls & Caviar Kinks Restoration Treatment-When used on the scalp, it works great to control dandruff, lubricate the scalp, and rejuvenate the hair follicles. Now, it doesn't work overnight to help increase hair growth, but with continued use, I did begin seeing my hair growth start to speed up somewhat.
My routine with my Curls products on wash day is this:
On wet hair, I apply at least 5-7 sprays of Curls Quenched to my hair. Next, I apply my styler to my hair section by section, always making sure to throughly smooth it through. Once, I have finished apply product all over my head then I just scrunch it through. And, I let my curls airdry.
In between washings:
Option 1-Do a few sprays of Curls Quenched all over my head to rehydrate and refresh my curls. Next, I fluff my curls for about a minute or two. And, lastly I just let my hair airdry on its own.
or
Option 2-Do a few sprays of Curls Quenched all over my head. Second, I emulsify the product first between my fingers if it is Curls Souffle or Whipped Cream. Third, I distribute the product evenly throughout my whole head. Lastly, I let my hair airdry. Now, if i am using Curls Milkshake, I don't emulsify it first between my fingers. I instead apply the product in small-to-moderate amounts to my head. And, then I just let it airdry as usual.
