Smile Curls goddess glaze

Hi, my name is Rose and I have just started using the curls products. My hair feels really hydrated and looks and feels really soft and less frizzy. By the way I have 4a hair ...i think. I am using the whipped cream and the curls goddess glaze. Now my hair has little white bits in it. Think that it is the curls goddess glaze. Is the curls goddess glaze supposed to be only used on wet hair? I have been using the curls goddess glaze on a daily basis to keep the hair on the front of my head down, as it gets really frizzy. I have used so many products to try and keep the front of my head frizz free and lying down and this is the only thing that works. I am using it on dry hair. Am I wrong to be using it on dry hair? Should I only I use it when my hair is wet? What curls products can I use instead?

Thanx in advance for your help and advice,
Rose

Hello Rose!

The first product that should be used before you apply any Curls styler is always the Curls Quenched Moisturizer. As, the styling products need to have a liquid base, with which they are designed to be applied over.

Now, the Curls Whipped Cream is to be used on either wet or dampened hair, never dry hair only. Before applying it, you would emulsify the Curls Whipped Cream between your fingers first. Next, you would apply it to your hair, making sure to thouroughly smooth it through. After you have thoroughly smoothed it through, then you would wait at least 2 minutes before applying the gel, so that the product can dry a bit in the hair.

After the two minutes are up, then you would apply the Goddess Glaze to your hair, making sure to scrunch it in.

Remember, the Curls Whipped Cream is the mmost concentrated product that Curls makes, so please do not overapply, as you will be left dissatisfied with the results. Also, you do not need to apply alot of the gel either, in order to achieve extra hold and frizz protection.

Curls does sell a curly pomade+glosser called Curls Euphoria Elixir. You can also try this product (instead of the Glaze) to use for slicking back your hair in the front and getting it to lye down better and stay frizz free. As, it gives a soft hold, lots of softness, and great sheen to the hair.

Default Correct products for wet and dry hair

Thanx so much for the advice. Can i just ask one more question? On a daily basis, do i just use the curls quencher to rehydrate my hair and keep it looking and feeling silky? My hair gets really frizzy and dry overnight. From what I understand I can't use the whipped cream or the goddess glaze on dry hair. Is this right?

Sorry for being so dumb re: curly hair,
Rose

Curls Quenched is not only a curl moisturizer, but also a curl refreshing product. It is designed to be used daily under the Curls products (to provide a liquid moisturizing base) or alone (as a next day curl refresher). Since you said that you have a problem with your hair becoming frizzy at night, do yu sleep on a satin pillowase and/or wear a satin bonnet or scarf over your hair at night? As, curly hair needs to be protected while it is being slept on always.

No, the Whipped Cream or Glaze should always be put on hair that has been primed first with the Curks Quenched first. So, putting either or even both products directly on dry hair is not the way that the products are recommended to be used.

Also, do you have the Curls Asian Hair Tea Conditioner? As, this deep conditioner is excellent for dry, thirsty, frizzy curls.

Default Frizzy hair

Dear Soblessed,
Thanx for the prompt reply. Yes I do sleep with a satin scarf at night, but I think that the frizz problem may be due to the fact that I comb and brush my hair on a daily basis. I say this because the salon I went to, and first tried the Curl products said that I should only comb my hair when I was conditioning it. They said that I should instead run my hands through my hair.

Besides the quencher, what products for the curls range can you use daily?

Thumbs up

Rose,

I currently use Curls Milkshake and Whipped Cream. And, I actually only detangle my hair once a week (on wash day). I detangle my hair first with a wide-toothed comb (while I have conditioner in it). And, then I do a more thorough detangling while my brush (while my hair is soaking wet).

I use the Curls Quencher on my hair everyday. I use it either as a liquid base for my Curls products or by itself as next day hair refresher. My hair is naturally very dry and I prefer to only use creams in my hair now versus gels two. As, they allow my hair to stay soft, control frizz, and give a natural hold to my curls all the while.
