Natural-haired Gals, How Do You Personally Feel About Ever Relaxing Your Hair Again?
For all of my natural-haired gals, how do you personally feel about ever relaxing your hair again?
My personal vote is no. As, I have already decided that I will never consider relaxing my hair again.

Phytospecific #1 Relaxer changed my life!
Hello everyone!
I was one of those people who thought she would never relax her hair again. Once I learned about the Phytospecific Relaxer and how they do not contain any lye and use mushroom salts, soy and egg to alter the hair, I was definitely intrigued. I saw them do a demo on a live model, half head as the other half was already relaxed. She had type 4 hair and very thick. She came out silky smooth at the other end, yet her hair was not bone straight. Also, I learned from Antonio, a fabulous stylist at the Phyto Universe , that I could use the #1 to stretch out my curl and have the ability to wear it straight if I wanted to. He was so right!!! I combed out my locks. Even as I write that, it's hard to believe that I did it! It took a month of work, everyday, for about 4 hours. Then I deep conditioned it, left it alone for 2 weeks, and took the plunge. I applied it myself and it did not burn, tingle or smell funky. It was AMAZING!!! I am so happy. I have wash and go hair. I can wear it straight if I want. It is the best! Essence magazine has given it mad props, too.

I personally would not relax my hair again as I totally love my hair curly and if I every get the urge to go back with the straight look I can use a hair straightener and be very happy that I can wash it and have my hair curly again instead of going through the whole transitioning period again I think a third transition would send me mad. lol

Hello!
Well, after doing a search on the internet about Phytospecific PhytoRelaxer 1, I was able to find a more thorough ingredient listing for the straightening cream. And, here is the full ingredient listing for the product:
Water, Mineral Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum, Emulsifying Wax NF, Propylene Glycol, Egg Extract/Ovum (Extrait D'Euf), Steareth-100, PEG-75, Lanolin, Disodium Cocoaamphodiacetate, Oleth-20, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-10 Rapeseed Sterol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein (Soja), Fragrance/Parfum, Egg Oil/Ovum, (Huile D' Euf)
Also, I have a full ingredient listing for the Inductor Index 1 that you have to mix in with the straightening cream. And, here are its ingredient listing:
Water Guanidine Carbonate, Xanthum Gum, Propylene Glycol, Yellow 5/CI19140.
Now, it doesn't list sodium, calcium, or lithium hydroxide which are chemical straightening ingredients that are found in typical relaxers. However, you do have to mix the Inductor in with the straightening cream. Now, in the Inductor, is a very important ingredient called Guanidine Carbonate. And, to find out more about this ingredient I had to look up more about it in the Internet.
Here's a link that shows exactly what Guanidine Carbonate is all about : Guanidine Carbonate Manufacturer exporting direct from China
Guanidine Carbonate is an organic composed material. However, Guanidine Carbonate is classified as being a chemical. And, chemical companies do manufacture this ingredient.
Curvalicious, I am glad that you have found a product that does allow you to have "was and go" hair. However, I would still remain cautious while using this relaxer system in your hair. As, the warnings associated with it are really no different than if you were using a "normal" relaxer. As, it still has the potential to possibly cause breakage, shedding, or dryness to occur to your hair over time.
