Default What Is Your Goal Length & What Length Are You At Right Now?

What is your current hairlength?

TWA-Teeny Weeny Afro
EL-Ear Length
CL-Chin Length
SL-Shoulder Length
BSL-Below Shoulder Length
MBL-Mid Back Length
WL-Waist Length
RL-Rapunzel Length (Anything Longer than Waistlength

And, what length are you at right now?

My hair length is currently BSL. It was closer to MBL before I recently cut it. As, the weather has gotten warm here. And, I unfortunately get more antsy to cut my hair during the warmer months than any other time of the year. As, this is probably due to the heat and humidity and my wanting to have a lighter feel to my hair.

My goal length is WL. So, ultimately at this time it should take me no more than 3 years to get there.

My hair is currently cut into layers and varies between SL and CL mainly SL.
My target length for the end of the year is BSL and my ultimate target length is WL a length I have not seen since early childhood.

1. The most important thing to helping one's hair grow long and strong is feeding it the proper suply of nutrients that it needs. Synthetic chemicals cannot feed hair. As, natural ingredients actually do a better job of that.

2. Also, another good thing that contributes greatly to having healthy, hapy hair is using a consistent regimen of products. As, constant product switching only works against that goal.

3. Take a daily vitamin, making sure that it has Biotin in it.

4. Drinks lots of water. The body will retain as much water as it can use, and then after the body has had its fill, so to speak, then it will automatically just flush out the excess water from your body through urination. The wayer that he body retains will help to flush out toxins from your body as well as provide it with a more balanced environment with which your hair, skin, and nails can thrive.

My goal is hip length hair, I suppose that would be RL . I had waist length hair in March just before my texturizer disaster. After that all my hair broke off, or I should say literally melted off ( my stylist overlapped the chemical through the length of my hair - something she never did before - she totally sabotaged me). Anyway, I BC'd after that and I'm determined to make it to hip length (stretched) all natural hair in 5 years. My current length is about 2.5".

I have EL and my goal is MBL. I am getting my ends cut every four to six months. To do this I have my hair blow dried and then cut. I am scared to get it cut without doing this, because I think it will be really short. I have had TWA I just don't want to any more. My TWA went to EL in about one and a half years. My question is do I really need to cut my hair to get the length sooner and would it be ok to not blow dry my hair before it is cut? By the way my hair is totally natural and it looks like the young lady's to the right in the new promo ad sent out today. Thanks

Hello!
No you do not have to cut your hair to gain more length to yiour hair sooner. As, taking a daily multivitamin, drinking at least 8 ounces of water a day, and using products designed to promote healthy hair growth are all quite essential to the promoting of healthy hair growth. Now, there is no wonder product out there on the market that increase your hair's growth by 2 or 3 inches a month. As, that simply doesn't exist at his time. And, even if that type of product did exist, there would certainly be some risks involve with using such a product.

Now, I do suggest your geting your hair trimmed, as one thing that can hinder the progress of hair growth is split ends. Because, when ever you have a split end, then the hair can definitely end up splitting all the way up the hair shaft. And, that would of course not be a good thing.

Everyone's trimming cycle is different. As, I haven't found a person that trims at the same intervals as someone else. Some, people trim their own hair every few months, some do it every few weeks, and some actually do it a few times a year. These times are all dependent upon the health of your hair and whether you experiencing a lot of split ends or not. And, if you have a scissor happy stylist, then you may may actually end up getting more trims than you'd care to have (so you have to look out for that).

Now, it is ok if you do not blow dry your hair before it is cut. But, even if you did blow dry your hair before it was to be cut, that wouldn't be a problem anyways, okay. As, some stylists or even people blow out the hair before cutting it in order to find out the hair's true length that way. And, it also aids with hair lengthening as well.

Default length

I am at EL and would like BSL...I have been transitioning since Dec 07 and slowly trimming off my ends...I take a multivitamin and 2000 mcg of biotin with lots of water! As a child my hair was SL to BSL...If only my mom knew then what I know now I wouldn't have let her start relaxing it...

Smile Length - MBL

I am at SL and my goal is MBL. I remember my hair being long as a little girl and my mom used to ponytail my hair. As a teen I started to try new styles and eventually put a perm. I know now that that was a big mistake. From that time on my hair was never the same, breakage and all. But now since going natural, I love my hair. It is so much more healthier than before and is growing. Best decision I ever made.
