Question My daughters hair wont grow!

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or tips. My daughter is 6 and her hair is really curly and it barely touches her shoulders , it took so long just to get there. I have seen other children with curly hair her age and it is way longer. I have trimmed it 3 times just a little to cut the split ends. It just seems like it will never grow, even wet it is not that long!

Hello!

Hair does grow from the head at different rates. The amount that a person hair normally grows has a lot to do with one's genetics. However, one's normal growth rate can change due to certain factors such as: diseases, medications, pregnancy, or even due to harsh or even the wrong types of products used on the hair or scalp.

I would honestly suggest that you first make sure that she takes a children't multivitamin. As, it has essential vitamins in it that are geared towards promoting not only a healthy body, but also healthy skin, hair and nails as well. Biotin is especially essential to the promoting healthy hair. So, any children's multivitamin that you buy must have this in it.

Also, I don't know what products you are currently using in your daughter's hair, but they may not be providing your daughter's hair with enough moisture or essential nutrients to help increase its heathiness. So, I would definitely try using the CurlyQ products on your daughter's hair (if you aren't already).

Now, in order for me to know exactly which styling products would work best for your daughter's hair, I would really need to know more about what type of curls she has. What type is your daughter's hair? If you are not sure of your daughter's hairtype, then that's okay. As, you can instead just answer this question for me and I would just take it from there: Does your daughter have looser type curls or more kinkier, coarser type curls all over her head?

Well she does take a multivitamin everyday. And as far as the hair products I have been using curlyQs for about a year and a half now. Her hair looks and feels wonderful but just wont grow. Her hair is a really soft texture and the curls are like if you were to take the smallest curling iron and make spiral curls....well they are pretty tight.

Ok..............I see where you ae taking the proper steps by giving your daughter a daily multivitamin. And, even though your daughter's hair might not seem like its growing because her curls are rather tight and small (in appearance), your daughter's hair probably is thriving at a normal pace. So, I would not worry too much about her hair's growth rate being at a slower pace.

And, one other thing-what do you use to detangle your daughter's hair with? As, whatever method of detangling (fingerstyling, combing, or brushing) that you choose plays a factor in hair lengthening as well.
